Melissa Gray's Rock 'N' Roll Race for a Cure Pledge Page

I have made a commitment to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training by participating in The Rock ‘n’ Roll ½ Marathon in San Diego, CA on June 3rd, 2007 and I am wondering if you would support me in this by making a donation to this worthy cause. The Team In Training is a nationwide endurance program that celebrates and commemorates lives touched by cancer.

Each Team In Training member is set up with an Honored Teammate. This is someone that is battling some form of blood cancer. I am attaching a few pictures of my Honored Teammate, 3 year old Evan. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma when he was two. I have the pleasure of working with Evan’s Father. When David told me that his 3 year old son is recovering from Lymphoma I thought, “Three years old. That is too young!” I told David that I would truly be honored to have Evan as my Honored Teammate. David said that he would be proud to have me sponsor his son. Throughout my journey training for my race and raising money, I will be able to look at Evan’s picture and constantly be reminded of why I am doing this. And I hope that you will visit my page, read a little about Evan and be reminded why you are making your donation.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The Society meets the standards of the Better Business Bureau for charitable accountability. I encourage you to help me to meet or exceed the personal goal of $4,100 that I have set for myself.

If you would like to donate, please visit my personal web page to make a safe and secure donation.
